Put your thinking cap on, as we’re joined by Dr. Edwin C. May, a scientist and then program director for the U.S. government’s psychic espionage program, known as STAR GATE. With the closing of that program, research has continued at the Laboratories for Fundamental Research in Palo Alto, in the areas of methodology and analysis, neurophysiological studies, personnel assessment and selection, operations research, the physics of anomalous cognition, and psychokinesis. Tonight he will discuss his fascinating conclusions.

Ed was trained in low-energy, experimental nuclear physics and earned a Ph.D. in 1968 from the University of Pittsburgh. Except for a post-doc at the University of California at Davis, he has devoted his career to the serious study of extra sensory perception or ESP. In 1976 he joined the on-going, CIA-funded, program at SRI International, and in 1985 became the contractor director is what has become known as the STARGATE program: the US Intelligence community’s use of ESP during the Cold War. The research continues now at the Laboratories for Fundamental Research. Ed and his colleagues have published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journal on the evidence for, applications of, and potential mechanisms for ESP.
