With vast advancements in technology, there is an ever-increasing worry about how Humanity will cope with the advent of capable AI (Artificial Intelligence) workers; and if their near imminent arrival means the total displacement of the blue-collar worker.
Professor of theoretical physics, Michio Kaku dropped by to discuss his vision of what the future of humanity is going to be like. This includes not only how human workers will survive being displaced by robotic workers, but also the future of
Will Robots Take Your Job
Professor Kaku believes that most workers will be safe. But those who work in industries where repetitive actions are required (requiring no actual human involvement) then those are the workers who will ultimately find themselves displaced, and possibly re-entering the education system to find a more meaningful employment.
Robots cannot become a teacher, nor can one make for a great plumber. But robots can and do make excellent workers for industries such as warehouses, dangerous industrial positions, and even hotel clerks…among other simple movement tasks. Thus freeing more of the workforce to further expand their potential outside of temporary agencies that largely devalue the common worker.
In Japan we already have robots working the front desk. But at this time they are not a full-on receptionist, because that still requires, to a degree, human interaction. They do the simple tasks.Michio Kaku
Is Transhumanism Wrong
Until modern times the average life expectancy since the dawn of humanity was less than thirty. Imagine that; you were basically born, had kids, and then you died. That’s why so many fairytales talk about step-parents
Modern science and medicine have extended the life expectancy for humans from an average of thirty years to somewhere around the average of seventy-five years that we now take for granted.
Everything that has extended our lives is artificial. The vaccines which protect us from once deadly outbreaks, they are artificially made. You can look even further and see how humans undergo surgery to artificially increase their likelihood of surviving beyond a natural stage of their body’s
There are some groups, such as religious groups, that make ignorant claims against transhumanism; all without being aware that their own lives have been artificially tampered with to ensure they can live beyond a young age.
Without the continuing research into transhumanism, there are a countless number of individuals alive today, who would just cease to exist. Take for example individuals on dialysis or those who are type 1 diabetics. Neither would live more than a few months without an artificial means, whether that is an artificial kidney, artificial pancreas, or an insulin delivery system.
Does Religion Hinder Scientific
Religion deals with beliefs and ethics. Whereas science deals with natural law and facts. Beliefs and facts don’t normally get along because the facts may not always coincide with what a belief is. That is why it is important that we understand that religion should never be incorporated into science and neither should science be incorporated into religious beliefs.
